I have three flower beds. One along the side of our house up to our front door and, two around our back patio. Mostly, I have heirloom plants. They have been given to me by neighbors, co-workers, etc... I have a yucca from my Grandma's yard. (I'm hoping it lived through a transplant and the hot weather we've been having.) My mom is going to give me some tiger lilies that she has. I absolutely LOVE tiger lilies.
I have the most of lilies, irises, and hostas. I have peonies (they didn't bloom this year, hum?), tansley, spiderwort, painted daisies, black-eyed susan, regular daisies, lamb's ear, columbine, wild wondering jew, mums, and three rose bushes. Most of what I have picked because I liked. I've been luck that they all compliment each other seasonally.
I want to start a window box with herbs.
Give me any tips OR ask me any questions.

just start with herbs you know you will use.... i started with parsley and thyme. then i got everything under the sun. i have a pot of just mint. and a pot of just cat nip
1Lemon thyme is my favorite thyme. A bit of Rosemary is nice, as is lemon basil. I like oregano, Italian, I think--is the one which I enjoy. I love fresh herbs in a salad!
